Overview

Mission and vision

Welcome to M.E.M Academy CIC, where we harness the power of sports and lived experience mentorship to empower at-risk and vulnerable children and young people, aged 11-19. Our mission is rooted in providing inclusivity and equal access to regular physical activity, thereby enhancing their physical and mental well-being. Through our programmes, we aim to diminish social isolation, curb anti-social behaviour, and contribute to youth crime prevention.

Our commitment extends beyond physical activity; we strive to facilitate access to accredited courses, work placements, and employment opportunities for young people identified as NEETs (Not in Employment, Education, or Training). Additionally, we proudly offer workshops within prison settings to support offenders aged between 16-24 who are on the brink of release.

Focusing on specific target areas, we concentrate on BAME communities labeled as deprived by local authorities, priority regions, communities grappling with high instances of anti-social behaviour and gang activities, as well as areas where children and young people face barriers to inclusive health and prosperity.

At M.E.M Academy CIC, our vision is clear: to ensure vulnerable and at-risk BAME children and young people have equal and inclusive access to opportunities that empower them to become productive and valued members of their communities.

As part of our dedication to creating opportunities for individuals with a history of incarceration, we actively seek to employ reformed ex-offenders interested in pursuing a career as fitness coaches and joining our coaching team. Acknowledging the challenges that ex-offenders often face in securing employment post-release, we aspire to be a part of the solution by offering opportunities that facilitate the rebuilding of lives and the positive contribution of these individuals to society. Join us in making a lasting impact and fostering a more inclusive and supportive community for all.
